Water Legislation Amendment Bill 2015 (QLD)
The Bill seeks to re-introduce ecological sustainable development as core water allocation objectives that were removed from focus in the Water Reform and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014 (QLD). Additional amendments to the Water Act 2000 (QLD) and River Improvement Trust Act 1940 (QLD) are also included. The Bill will ensure water allocation and licencing will be done through a planned sustainable framework rather than ad hoc administrative decisions which were promoted under the Water Reform and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014 (QLD). The Bill has been referred to Committee.
