The Climate Change Authority is seeking public comment on the Carbon Farming Act 2017 (Cth) and the efficacy of the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) that is the key emissions reduction policy. The ERF is based on incentivising and creating emissions reductions, and government purchase of emissions reduction. This system will be subject to both procedural and substantive review by investigating barriers to participation and market operations as well as real emissions reductions and the effectiveness of the methodology of reduction. Submissions are open until 29 September 2017.
