NSW Releases Wind Energy Guideline

The State Government has released its Wind Energy Guideline for large-scale state significant wind energy developments. The framework will provide certainty for industry and investment and aim to reduce the time taken for applications for large-scale wind energy projects to be approved – a process that is currently averaging 1000 days in length. The guideline balances economic interests with social and environmental concerns through an environmental assessment of each application. The application process is consistent with the current requirements for all other state significance developments.
