The applicant represented the Ngaliwurru and Nungali Peoples with regards to a claim for compensation under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) for the right to adequate compensation for compulsory acquired land under the Lands Acquisition Act 1978 (NT). The court found there had been a partial extinguishment of native title rights and interests on the land and as a consequence the applicant was entitled to just compensation. The court found the applicant was entitled to compensation for the extinguishment of their non-exclusive native title rights totalling $3 300 261.
