Indigenous Nations Meet to Discuss Water Rights over MDB

A Joint Gathering of the Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations (MLDRIN) and the Northern Basin Aboriginal Nations (NBAN) produced a Water Statement which synthesises the issues regarding indigenous peoples and their water rights in the region. The Statement outlined the groups’ commitment to the Murray-Darling Basic Plan’s concepts of Water Resource Plans and National Cultural Flows Research as methods of representing indigenous water interests in current water legislation.
