Today, the Climate Change Bill 2016 (Vic) received royal assent. The Bill will ensure Victoria works toward meeting global agreements on climate change by implementing long-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction target and developing five yearly interim greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets in order to reach these long-term targets. The Bill will repeal and re-enact, with significant reform, the Climate Change Act 2010 (Vic).
