Bill Seeks to Establish Energy Transition Authority

The private members Renew Australia Bill 2016 (Cth) was introduced to the House of Representatives last week. The bill seeks to establish a statutory authority which would be the primary body in guiding Australia’s transition to a clean energy system. The body would manage the energy transition plan towards a low-carbon economy, considering the environmental, social and economic impacts in executing this plan.
