Amendments to Alter Energy Saving Scheme before NSW Parliament

The Electricity Supply Amendment (Energy Savings Scheme) Bill 2015 (NSW) has been introduced into Parliament seeking to extend the automatic termination of the Energy Saving Scheme from 2020 to 2025 to encourage investment in long-term sustainable technologies. The Bill also seeks to include gas efficacy atop of already existing energy saving schemes regarding electricity. The Bill seeks increase energy savings targets by 5% in 2015 to 8.5% increase by 2019.
