Jeremy Fisher

Jeremy Fisher is a key legal advisor on current large agribusiness developments across Australia, where water rights and water resource management policy are highly contested.

Clients find Jeremy’s awareness and skills in public policy valuable in managing their relationships with regulators, government agencies and State corporations.

When government agencies deploy public policy arguments to justify adverse water rights decisions, Jeremy assists clients with administrative and civil law strategies and tactics to protect client rights and restore business projects to profitability.

When competing water stakeholders and claimants cannot agree on mutually acceptable solutions, Jeremy protects and supports clients’ interests to achieve sustainable, long term returns for their investments.

Jeremy is particularly skilled at assisting clients to integrate project and operational management with corporate financial and governance systems.

Jeremy understands how to integrate legal solutions with corporate accounting. He is adept at communicating with and assisting CEOs, Boards, corporate staff and project teams, translating from legal and financial contract and dispute issues at project level, through business performance reporting and accountability lines, to audit and risk committees, boards and shareholders.

Clients appreciate Jeremy’s pragmatic, risk management approach. To stay profitable and achieve KPIs, businesses need solid, targeted legal counsel, without wasted expenditure on non-critical issues.

Jeremy’s approach illuminates the strategic path for boards, senior executives and project managers, and lays out the tactical critical path for advancing specific activities, projects and disputes.

Jeremy’s experience in major law firms and as legal counsel in-house for large engineering firms ensures a high standard and quality of work for clients. He has previously advised on major infrastructure projects and a range of international development issues and projects for the Australian Government.

Raised in Renmark, South Australia, Jeremy has a particular affinity with water, irrigation and agriculture. He spent his early years exploring the River Murray and working in northern Western Australia and regional Victoria.
