Last week the Genetically Modified Crops Free Areas Repeal Bill 2015 (WA) passed Parliament. The Bill will remove the restrictions which classify the state as a genetically modified crop free area. Agriculturalists will now be able to expand into new crops, pending the approval of the crops by the national Office of the Gene Technology Regulator.
