Project Sea Dragon Receives Environmental Approval

Australia’s largest prawn farm, to be developed in Northern Australia, has received environmental approval from the Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority. The EPA’s approval has conditions attached, including the requirement of ongoing water quality monitoring. Project Sea Dragon anticipates producing 14 000 tonnes of black tiger prawns per year. Approval must now be sort from the Minister for Primary Industries and Resources who issues the aquaculture licence for development to begin.
