From April 1, the National Horticulture Code of Conduct was replaced by a new code, Competition and Consumer (Industry Codes—Horticulture) Regulations 2017 (Cth). The Code seeks to ensure transparency in trading in the Horticulture industry between growers and traders. The Code does not apply to purchasers who directly sell to consumers. There is a transition period of one year for existing agreements to facilitate compliance with the new code.
