Committee Report on the Strong and Sustainable Resource Communities Bill 2016 Due

The Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources Committee is due to table its report for the Legislative Assembly today regarding its findings as to the Strong and Sustainable Resource Communities Bill 2016 (QLD). The Bill seeks to strengthen regional communities by ensuring they receive benefit from proximate resource projects. Steps to ensure this will occur include the limiting of fly-in, fly-out workers, enhancing employment for local residents in large projects and requiring mandatory social impact assessments.
